Do Great Northern Beans in a glass jar expire?

Great Northern Beans or any dry beans in an airtight glass jar will keep indefinitely at room temperature. Beans and peas may retain their best quality until or about a year, unless damaged by insect pests. Canned dry beans retain their best quality for two to five years at room temperature.
