How to Cook Short Grain Brown Rice
Short grain brown rice features plump, almost round kernels. Due to a high starch content, cooked brown rice tends to be moist and sticky. According to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, brown rice contains approximately two grams of fiber and a little more than 100 calories per half-cup, making it a nutritious part of your diet. You can use short grain brown rice in a variety of sweet and savory dishes, such as stir-fries, cold salads, soups and puddings.
