Why I hold down food or water?

Reasons why you might be holding down food or water:

- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD): This condition occurs when stomach acid flows back into the esophagus. It can cause a burning sensation in the chest, regurgitation, and difficulty swallowing.

- Hiatal hernia: This is a condition in which the stomach protrudes through an opening in the diaphragm. It can cause similar symptoms to GERD, as well as chest pain and shortness of breath.

- Esophageal stricture: This is a narrowing of the esophagus that can make it difficult to swallow. It can be caused by scarring from inflammation, surgery, or radiation therapy.

- Achalasia: This is a disorder of the muscles in the esophagus that prevents the stomach from emptying properly. It can cause difficulty swallowing, regurgitation, and chest pain.

- Cancer of the esophagus or stomach: These cancers can block the passage of food and water through the digestive tract. They can also cause other symptoms such as weight loss, fatigue, and abdominal pain.

If you are holding down food or water, it is important to see a doctor to determine the cause and get the appropriate treatment.
