What does millet like?

Millet is a versatile crop that can adapt to a variety of growing conditions. However, it does have some specific preferences:

Climate: Millet grows best in warm, sunny climates. The ideal temperature range is between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius. However, some varieties of millet can also tolerate cooler temperatures.

Soil: Millet prefers well-drained, sandy or loamy soils with a pH between 6.0 and 7.5. It can also tolerate acidic soils, but it may not produce as well.

Water: Millet needs regular watering, but it does not tolerate waterlogged conditions. The ideal soil moisture content is between 50% and 60%.

Fertilizer: Millet responds well to fertilizer, but it is important not to over-fertilize. The recommended amount of fertilizer is 50-100 kg of nitrogen per hectare.

Spacing: Millet should be planted in rows that are 30-45 cm apart. The seeds should be spaced 10-15 cm apart within the rows.

By following these guidelines, you can help ensure that your millet crop produces a bountiful harvest.
