What are the ingredients of ESSIAC?
ESSIAC is a herbal tea that is said to have anticancer properties. It is made from four herbs:
* Sheep sorrel (Rumex acetosella)
* Burdock root (Arctium lappa)
* Slippery elm bark (Ulmus fulva)
* Turkey rhubarb root (Rheum palmatum)
ESSIAC was developed by Canadian nurse Rene Caisse in the 1920s. She claimed that the tea had cured her of stomach cancer, and she went on to use it to treat other cancer patients. However, there is no scientific evidence to support the claim that ESSIAC is effective in treating cancer.
In fact, some studies have even suggested that ESSIAC may be harmful. For example, one study found that ESSIAC could increase the risk of kidney stones. Another study found that ESSIAC could interact with certain medications, including chemotherapy drugs.
If you are considering taking ESSIAC, it is important to talk to your doctor first.
