Does funji make its food or obtain food?

Fungi obtain their food. They are heterotrophs, meaning they cannot make their own food like plants do through photosynthesis.

Instead, fungi obtain their food by absorbing nutrients from their surroundings. They do this by:

* Decomposing organic matter: Fungi break down dead plants and animals, releasing nutrients back into the ecosystem.

* Parasitizing living organisms: Some fungi live on or in other living organisms, taking nutrients from them.

* Forming symbiotic relationships: Fungi can form beneficial relationships with other organisms, like plants, where they exchange nutrients.

So, fungi don't "make" food in the same way that plants do. They rely on other sources of nutrients to survive.
