What foods contain DHA?

Foods that are rich in DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) include:

- Fatty fish: Salmon, mackerel, sardines, tuna, anchovies, and herring

- Shellfish: Oysters, mussels, clams, scallops, and shrimp

- Fish oil supplements

- Algae oil supplements

- Some fortified foods, such as certain brands of milk, yogurt, eggs, and infant formula

- DHA can also be produced by the body from the essential fatty acid Alpha-linolenic Acid (ALA), found in plant foods like flaxseeds, chia seeds, and walnuts, but the conversion rate is low.
