How to Make Shahi Tukra ( Indian Bread Pudding)
Shahi Tukra is a very delicious northern Indian dessert. It was once served only to royal families. It is easy to make. Compared to some desserts, it is very sweet, but when it's chilled, it is so yummy. If you would like to try something different that is quite easy to prepare, here is a quick recipe for making Shahi Tukra.
Things You'll Need
- 4 cups of heavy cream
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp cardamom
- 1/2 cup of golden raisins
- Ghee to fry to bread in
- Almond slivers
Instructions

Heat cream and condensed milk in a pan until it is about half of it's original weight through boiling and reduction. Add cardamom and then remove the milk mixture from heat.

Trim the crusts off of the bread slices. Deep fry in the ghee until golden brown then remove and place on paper towel covered plate to absorb any excess ghee. Fry the raisins in the same pan until they have puffed up them remove and drain to remove excess ghee.

Place bread in alternating pieces, one down, then top with milk mixture, then another piece then milk mixture and so on until you've placed all the bread slices on top of each other. Garnish with the raisins and almonds.

Chill for one hour then serve and enjoy!
