Can Chinese algae eater live with goldfish?
The answer to this question is no. Chinese algae eaters (Gyrinocheilus aymonieri) are not compatible with goldfish (Carassius auratus). While Chinese algae eaters can be peaceful towards other fish in the aquarium, they are known to be aggressive toward goldfish. Chinese algae eaters may attack goldfish by biting their fins and gills, causing injury and stress. Additionally, Chinese algae eaters may also compete with goldfish for food and resources, leading to further aggression. For these reasons, it is not advisable to keep Chinese algae eaters with goldfish.
