What is guzheng made of?
Guzheng is a traditional Chinese plucked string instrument. The traditional guzheng is made of wood, primarily Paulownia tomentosa, also known as princess tree or empress tree, which is light and soft but hard enough to withstand high string tension. The soundboard is usually made of Chinese fir resonating with the tensioned strings. Modern variants may use other materials such as carbon fibre, acrylic or metal.
