What two food colorings make black?

You can't make true black food coloring by mixing two other colors.

Here's why:

* Food coloring is translucent: The colorants in food coloring are designed to be transparent, allowing the food to still show through.

* Mixing colors doesn't create black: Mixing colors like blue and red will give you purple, not black. To achieve a true black, you would need to use a very high concentration of pigment, which isn't practical or safe in food.

Instead of trying to mix food coloring, you can:

* Use black food coloring: Most grocery stores and baking supply shops carry black food coloring.

* Use cocoa powder or activated charcoal: These natural ingredients can add a dark brown or black hue to your food.

Remember, be careful with the amount of black coloring you use, as it can easily make food look too dark or unnatural.
