Where do African Cichlids live?

African Cichlids are a diverse group of fish found in the freshwater lakes, rivers, and streams of Africa, particularly in the Rift Valley lakes. They are native to the Great Lakes of East Africa, including Lake Tanganyika, Lake Malawi (Lake Nyasa), and Lake Victoria, as well as numerous smaller lakes and rivers in the region. Each lake or river system often has its own unique assemblage of cichlid species, contributing to the remarkable diversity of these fish in Africa.
