What happens when you put vinegar on talc?
The mixture of vinegar and talc creates an effervescent reaction, releasing carbon dioxide gas. This is because vinegar is an acid and talc is a base, so when they react they produce a salt and water, and the carbon dioxide gas is released. The reaction can also be observed if other types of acids are used, such as lemon juice or hydrochloric acid, and other types of bases are used, such as baking soda or sodium hydroxide.
