How do you clean the rust out of a cast iron bath tub?
Materials:
- Baking soda
- White vinegar
- Hot water
- A scrubbing pad
- Rubber gloves
- A brush
- Old rags
- A pair of safety glasses
Instructions:
1. Put on your rubber gloves and safety glasses to protect yourself from the cleaning chemicals.
2. Start by removing any loose rust from the tub with a scrub pad.
3. Sprinkle the baking soda generously over the rust stains.
4. Pour white vinegar over the baking soda, creating a fizzy reaction that helps break down the rust.
5. Let the mixture sit for at least 30 minutes or up to several hours.
6. Scrub the tub with the scrub brush, paying extra attention to the rusty areas.
7. Rinse the tub thoroughly with hot water.
8. If any rust stains remain, repeat steps 3-7.
9. Dry the tub with an old rag.
