To fix peeling faux leather, you will need the following materials:
- A heat gun or hair dryer
- A soft cloth
- A piece of parchment paper
- Leather glue or fabric adhesive
- A paintbrush
- A roller
- A can of spray paint (optional)
Instructions:
1. Clean the surface of the faux leather with a soft cloth to remove any dust or dirt.
2. Apply heat to the peeling area with a heat gun or hair dryer on a low setting.
3. Hold the heat source about 6 inches away from the surface and move it back and forth until the adhesive underneath the faux leather begins to melt.
4. While the adhesive is still hot, use the soft cloth to press down on the peeling area and smooth it out.
5. Place the piece of parchment paper over the repaired area and press it down with a heavy object. Leave it for at least 15 minutes to allow the adhesive to set.
6. If the faux leather is still peeling after it has cooled, you can apply a thin layer of leather glue or fabric adhesive to the back of the peeling area.
7. Use the paintbrush to spread the adhesive evenly, then press the peeling area back down into place.
8. Place the parchment paper over the repaired area again and press it down with a heavy object. Leave it for at least 30 minutes to allow the adhesive to dry completely.
9. If desired, you can paint the repaired area with a can of spray paint to match the color of the rest of the faux leather.
By following these steps, you can easily repair peeling faux leather and make it look like new again.
