How do you serve red wine?
Red wine serving temperature:
* Light-bodied red wines (such as Pinot Noir and Beaujolais): 55°–60°F (13°–16°C)
* Medium-bodied red wines (such as Merlot and Cabernet Franc): 60°–65°F (16°–18°C)
* Full-bodied red wines (such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah): 65°–70°F (18°–21°C)
Steps to serve red wine:
1. Choose the right glass. Red wine should be served in a glass that is large enough to allow the wine to breathe, but not so large that the wine becomes diluted. A good rule of thumb is to choose a glass that holds about 6–8 ounces of wine.
2. Open the bottle. Use a wine opener to remove the cork from the bottle. Be careful not to let any cork particles fall into the wine.
3. Pour the wine. Hold the bottle by the neck and pour the wine into the glass. Pour slowly and steadily, allowing the wine to flow down the side of the glass.
4. Serve the wine. Serve red wine at room temperature, or slightly chilled.
Here are some tips for serving red wine:
* Allow the wine to breathe for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will help the wine to develop its full flavor and aroma.
* Serve red wine with food. Red wine pairs well with a variety of foods, such as steak, lamb, and pasta.
* Enjoy red wine in moderation. Red wine is a delicious and healthy beverage, but it should be consumed in moderation.
