Can you use white or cider vinegar with sherry as a substitute?
Sherry vinegar can be substituted with white or cider vinegar, but the flavour of the dish may be slightly altered. Sherry vinegar has a slightly sweet and nutty flavour, while white and cider vinegar are more acidic and tart. Sherry vinegar is also darker in colour than white or cider vinegar.
