Is red wine or white better for pregnant women?
Neither red wine nor white wine is recommended for pregnant women.
Alcohol consumption during pregnancy can lead to a range of negative effects on the developing fetus, including:
Fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS): This is the most severe form of alcohol-related birth defects and can cause a range of physical, mental, and behavioral problems.
Alcohol-induced neurodevelopmental disorders: These are a group of conditions that can affect the brain and nervous system, leading to problems with learning, memory, attention, and behavior.
Miscarriage: Alcohol consumption can increase the risk of miscarriage, especially in the early stages of pregnancy.
Stillbirth: Alcohol consumption can also increase the risk of stillbirth, which is the death of a baby before birth.
For these reasons, it is recommended that pregnant women abstain from alcohol consumption throughout their pregnancy.
