What takes red wine out of a rug?
Steps:
1. Blot up the spill immediately. Don't rub it, as this will only spread the stain.
2. Apply a stain remover. Several commercial stain removers are available for red wine stains, such as Wine Away or Shout. You can also make your own stain remover by mixing equal parts of hydrogen peroxide, dish soap, and baking soda.
3. Rinse the area with water. After you've applied the stain remover, rinse the area with water to remove any residue.
4. Blot the area dry. Use a clean cloth to blot the area dry. Don't rub it, as this could damage the rug.
5. Place the rug in a sunny spot to dry. This will help to remove any remaining stain and prevent the formation of mold or mildew.
Tips:
- If the red wine stain is on a delicate rug, test the stain remover in a small, inconspicuous area before applying it to the entire stain.
- If you're not able to remove the stain with a commercial stain remover or a homemade solution, you may need to have the rug professionally cleaned.
