What does vin santo mean?
"Vin santo" means "holy wine" in Italian. It is a special type of dessert wine that is produced in Italy, primarily in the Tuscany region. Vin santo is made from white grapes that are dried on straw mats or racks before being pressed and fermented. The resulting wine is then aged in small barrels for a minimum of three years, often longer. Vin santo has a characteristic amber color, a sweet and rich flavor, and a high alcohol content. It is often served as a dessert wine or as a meditation wine, and is particularly popular during the holiday season.
