Who invented Pressure Cooker?
The pressure cooker was invented by Denis Papin, a French physicist and mathematician, in 1679. Papin's design consisted of a closed vessel with a safety valve, which allowed steam to escape when the pressure inside the vessel became too high. This allowed for food to be cooked at a higher temperature and pressure than boiling water, reducing cooking time. The principle behind Papin's pressure cooker is still used in modern pressure cookers today.
