Name two ways a starfish can reproduce?
Starfish can reproduce in two ways:
1. Sexual Reproduction: This is the most common way for starfish to reproduce. They release sperm and eggs into the water, where fertilization takes place. The fertilized eggs develop into larvae, which eventually settle on the seabed and grow into adult starfish.
2. Asexual Reproduction: Some starfish species can reproduce asexually through a process called fragmentation. This means if a starfish loses an arm, the arm can sometimes regenerate into a new, complete starfish. This is a rare occurrence but allows the starfish to multiply in a unique way.
