Where do king crabs live?

King crabs live in cold waters of the North Pacific Ocean, including the Bering Sea, the Gulf of Alaska, and the waters around the Aleutian Islands. They are found at depths of up to 1,800 feet (550 meters) and prefer temperatures between 30 and 39 degrees Fahrenheit (-1 to 4 degrees Celsius). King crabs are found on muddy or sandy bottoms and typically inhabit areas with strong currents and an abundance of food.
