What water do crab live in?

Crabs can be found in both salt water and fresh water. Some crab species, such as the blue crab and the fiddler crab, live in salt water environments like oceans and coastal areas. Others, such as the Chinese mitten crab and the red swamp crab, live in fresh water environments like rivers, lakes, and ponds. A few crab species, such as the mangrove crab and the ghost crab, are able to tolerate both salt water and fresh water environments.
