Is it demeaning to call someone a shrimp?
The word "shrimp" is often used in a derogatory manner to describe someone who is perceived as small, weak, or insignificant. Historically, the term has been used in a racial or ethnic context to describe people from East and Southeast Asia. For these reasons, it is generally considered to be a derogatory term and should be avoided.
