How to Bake Breaded Chicken (9 Steps)

Things You'll Need

  • 2 cups bread crumbs
  • 2 tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. onion salt
  • 1 tsp. celery salt
  • 1 tsp. poultry seasoning
  • ¼ tsp. freshly ground pepper
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs (recipe above)
  • 1 fryer chicken, cut into pieces
  • Vegetable oil
  • Water
  • Baking pan

Seasoned Bread Crumbs

  1. Place all of the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix them thoroughly.

  2. Stir in the vegetable oil and mix again.

  3. Store in refrigerator until ready to use.

Baked Breaded Chicken

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Place the chicken in a single layer in a lightly oiled pan and bake for 15 minutes.

  3. Remove the chicken from the pan, and moisten each piece lightly with water.

  4. Roll the chicken pieces in the seasoned bread crumbs until coated.

  5. Place a single layer of chicken pieces back in the baking pan.

  6. Bake in preheated oven until the chicken is tender, about 45 to 60 minutes.
