How to Grill Salmon on a Foreman

While many Americans love to grill, not everyone has the space and sometimes the weather does not cooperate. A George Foreman grill solves these problems by allowing people to grill in their kitchen. A "Foreman" has two rigid plates that get hot when plugged in. These plates press together like a panini maker, grilling your food on both sides. Grilling salmon is a nutritious and simple way to get some fish into your diet.

Things You'll Need

  • Olive oil
  • Soy sauce
  • Dijon mustard
  • Shallot
  • Bowl
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Glazing brush
  • Cooking spray
  • Grilling tongs

Instructions

  1. Plug in the George Foreman and let it preheat. If your "Foreman" is a newer model with temperature control, set the temperature to medium.

  2. Create a glaze for your salmon. Any glaze can be created using oil, a sauce and spices. Create a Dijon mustard glaze by mixing one quarter of a cup of olive oil, three tablespoons of soy sauce, a minced shallot and two tablespoons of the mustard in a bowl.

  3. Salt and pepper the salmon and brush on the glaze. Add any other spices that you might think would pair well with your glaze.

  4. Spray the preheated grill with cooking spray and put the salmon on the grill, closing the lid. The cooking spray will keep the salmon from sticking to the grill. Allow the salmon to cook for about two minutes.

  5. Open the grill and apply another layer of glaze. Use grilling tongs to flip the fish. Once again, close the lid and allow the first to cook for two minutes.

  6. Remove the fish from the grill and serve. To make sure it has been cooked long enough, poke at one of the sides of your fish with a fork. If it wants to fall apart, it has been cooked long enough.
