What is the main source of food angler fish?

Anglerfish are carnivorous and their main source of food is other fish.

Here's how they hunt:

* Luring prey: Anglerfish use a modified dorsal fin ray that acts as a fishing rod with a bioluminescent lure at the end. The light attracts smaller fish, which the anglerfish then ambush.

* Large mouths: Anglerfish have enormous mouths with sharp, inward-pointing teeth that are perfect for capturing and swallowing prey.

* Deep-sea hunting: Most anglerfish live in the deep ocean where food is scarce, so they've developed these specialized adaptations for hunting.

So, while anglerfish might occasionally eat other marine creatures, their main diet consists of fish they lure and capture using their unique fishing rod.
