What habitat does the lantern fish live in?

The lanternfish is a type of deep-sea fish that inhabits the mesopelagic zone of the ocean, which is located between 200 and 1,000 meters (656 and 3,280 feet) below the surface. These deep-sea environments are characterized by cold temperatures, high pressure, and lack of sunlight. Lanternfish have adapted to these conditions by developing large eyes and light-producing organs called photophores, which they use to communicate, attract prey, and camouflage themselves from predators.
