Can cod fish be eaten raw?

While some fish species such as salmon and tuna can be enjoyed raw in dishes like sushi and sashimi, cod is not known to be a widely consumed raw fish. Unlike certain fish types that have firm textures and milder flavors when raw, cod tends to have a softer texture and is more commonly cooked to bring out its flavors.
