How did Chumash eat fish?
Chumash people speared and netted different kinds of fish. For example, they speared swordfish, sea bass, and halibut that came quite close to shore. To catch other types of fish, such as bonito and mackerel, Chumash people fashioned nets from plant fibers and used them to enclose entire schools of fish.
