How do you cook brook trout?
Cooking brook trout is a delicious way to enjoy this freshwater fish. Here's a simple but tasty recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound brook trout, cleaned and gutted
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh herbs (such as thyme, rosemary, and parsley)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, herbs, salt, pepper, lemon zest, and half of the lemon juice.
3. Toss the trout in the marinade to coat.
4. Place the trout on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
5. Roast in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
6. Squeeze the remaining lemon juice over the fish before serving.
Serve the trout with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, rice, or pasta. Enjoy!
