When to move crepe myrtle?

Crepe myrtles are best transplanted in the fall or winter when they are dormant. This gives the roots time to establish themselves before the hot weather of summer. However, if you must move a crepe myrtle in the spring or summer, do so early in the morning or evening when the weather is cool. Water the plant thoroughly before and after transplanting, and keep it well-watered for the first few weeks.
