Accidentally shut crock pot off with roast cooking after 2 hours. eat or throw out?
It is generally not recommended to consume food that has been left unrefrigerated for more than two hours, including meat that was cooking in a slow cooker. When food is left at room temperature for an extended period, bacteria can grow and multiply, increasing the risk of foodborne illness.
In this case, since the slow cooker was turned off after only 2 hours, the internal temperature of the roast may not have reached a sufficient level to kill harmful bacteria. It is best to err on the side of caution and discard the roast to avoid any potential health risks.
