What food should be cooked at a minimum 165?

The USDA recommends cooking these foods to a minimum internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for at least 15 seconds:

* Poultry: Whole chicken, chicken breasts, chicken thighs, chicken wings, ground chicken, turkey, duck, goose, and all other poultry

* Ground meats: Ground beef, ground pork, ground lamb, and ground veal

* Stuffed meats: Stuffing made with poultry, meat, seafood, or eggs, and any dish containing meat that has been injected with a solution containing meat or poultry

* Eggs: Eggs cooked in the shell, eggs in dishes, and eggs used in homemade ice cream

Important Note: This is a minimum temperature. You can cook these foods to higher temperatures if you prefer.

Tips for Safe Cooking:

* Use a food thermometer: The only way to know if food is cooked to the proper temperature is to use a food thermometer.

* Cook food thoroughly: Don't undercook any of the foods listed above.

* Don't stuff poultry: Stuffing should be cooked separately.

* Let food rest: After cooking, let food rest for a few minutes before carving or slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender and flavorful product.

Always follow the recommendations of the USDA for food safety.
