How to Make Low-Calorie Chicken Salad
Chicken salad is great for a picnic, an ordinary lunch, or anytime you just want a bite to eat. But those of us who are watching our weight may feel like we can't eat this tasty and tempting treat. Luckily, that isn't the case if you make the low-calorie version.
Things You'll Need
- 1 cup diced cooked chicken
- ¼ cup chopped celery
- Salt
- Pepper
- 8 tbsp. low-calorie mayonnaise
- 4 lettuce leaves
Instructions
-
Gather your ingredients. You can buy your chicken already cooked and diced up, or you can use leftover chicken that has been boiled or baked as long as it wasn't cooked with a lot of spices.
-
Mix the chicken with celery and low-calorie mayonnaise. Chop the lettuce leaves into small portions to add to the salad, or use the leaves in place of bread and serve the salad on top of them. Add salt and pepper according to taste.
-
Chill. Chicken salad tastes better when cold.
