How to Cook Asparagus Fast and Simply (3 Steps)
Asparagus spears -- high in fiber and low in calories -- are picked from a crown that grows about a foot deep in the ground. Asparagus is nutrient-dense and contains no fat or cholesterol. You can cook asparagus using several different methods, and many of them are quick and easy.
Things You'll Need
- Asparagus spears
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- Grated Parmesan cheese (fresh)
- Large skillet
Instructions

Rinse asparagus spears under cool water; snap them near their base as you rinse. Wherever they naturally break will give you the most tender remainder for your dish.

Place in large skillet with a thin layer of pre-heated olive oil. Salt and pepper generously. Place lid on top of pan. Turn occasionally for five to 12 minutes, depending on how tender you want them to be.

Add grated Parmesan cheese and keep covered for 10 minutes. Serve immediately.
