Why does iced tea foam?
The bubbles you see when pouring iced tea are tiny pockets of air that become filled with carbon dioxide gas. These bubbles form because the cold water helps dissolve them, and the air in the tea gets trapped in the water molecules. As the tea sits, the air bubbles rise to the surface and form a foamy layer.
