Is it safe to use scotch guard on my new couch?
Scotchgard™ Fabric Protector is safe for use on most fabrics, including leather, suede, and synthetic materials. However, because some fabrics may be sensitive to the product, the manufacturer recommends that you follow the steps below to test the product on a small, inconspicuous area of the couch before treating the entire surface:
1. Spot check: Apply a small amount of Scotchgard to a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric with a clean, white towel.
2. Wait: Let the product dry according to the instructions.
3. Inspect the area: Check the area for any changes in color, texture, or appearance.
4. If there are no adverse reactions, you may treat the entire fabric according to the instructions on the product label.
