How to Make a Virgin Banana Colada (3 Steps)
The pina colada has been the official drink of Puerto Rico since 1978. It is a sweet, rum based cocktail served with pineapple juice. It is said to have first been introduced at the Hilton Caribe hotel in Puerto Rico in 1954 by by a man named Ramon "Monchito" Marrero. Bananas are definitely a nutritious fruit. They are rich in vitamin B6, vitamin C, magnesium and potassium. They are also a good source of fiber. Because of their great taste, they can also serve as a substitute for sweets and satisfy sugar cravings. Here is a non-alchoholic banana version of the infamous pina colada.
Things You'll Need
- 3 ripe bananas
- 16 oz unsweetened pineapple juice
- 4 oz coconut milk
- 4 oz rum flavoring
- 2 cups ice
- 2 oz of toasted coconut
Instructions

Put bananas and pineapple juice in blender and mix well.

Add coconut milk, rum flavoring and ice and blend until smooth and fizzy.

Pour virgin banana colada into glasses and garnish with toasted coconut, pineapples or maraschino cherries. This virgin banana colada can be served as a dessert or a cocktail.
