What would happen if a flame went near mixture of baking soda?

If you were to hold a flame near or directly into baking soda, it would ignite and produce a mixture of carbon dioxide gas, water vapour and sodium carbonate. This reaction is known as thermal decomposition and baking soda decomposes at around 270 degrees Celsius.
