How to Make Pickle-Infused Vodka (4 Steps)

Vodka infuses so well with so many different flavors that you could find yourself in a pickle as to what to try next. Vodka, with its minimal odor and taste, works as an empty canvas for infusions. Infusing vodka with pickles, though, proves to be problematic because the pickles overwhelm the vodka with a vinegary taste. A suitable solution for pickle-infused vodka is picking the right ingredients, such as cucumbers and dill, to mimic a pickle's flavors.

Things You'll Need

  • Cutting board
  • Paring or sharp knife
  • Cucumbers
  • Dill sprigs
  • Garlic cloves
  • Glass decanter or jar with lid

Instructions

  1. Cut the cucumbers into 1/4- to 1/2-inch thick slices.

  2. Peel the garlic cloves, using three garlic cloves for every cucumber.

  3. Place the cucumber slices, peeled garlic cloves and dill sprigs -- one sprig for each full cucumber -- into the glass jar or decanter.

  4. Add vodka -- about half of a fifth, or 750 ml., for each whole cucumber. Seal and let sit for four days.
