What is a strawberry roan?

- even mixture of white hairs throughout a base color

- base coat is any solid color other than black

- black points: black lower legs, mane and tail

- the roan pattern appears over most other genetic coat patterns such as dun, bay, cremello or palomino

Two possible genotypes:

1) Heterozygous for roan (Rn)

2) homozygous for roan (RRn)
