What floats in coffee?
Here are some things that could float in coffee:
Common:
* Coffee grounds: Especially if they're coarsely ground or if the coffee is over-extracted.
* Oil: Coffee naturally contains some oils, which can float to the surface.
* Cream or milk: If not properly mixed.
* Bubbles: From frothing or stirring.
Less Common:
* Foreign objects: A stray insect, a bit of debris from the coffee filter, etc.
* Spices: If you add cinnamon sticks, star anise, or other spices to your coffee.
* Sugar: If you add granulated sugar and don't stir it in completely.
Things that shouldn't float in coffee:
* Coffee beans: Whole coffee beans should not float in your coffee. If you find them, it's a sign of an issue with your brewing process.
