How do you pull apart coffee filters?
Pull apart coffee filters the easy way:
1. Tear a large coffee filter in half lengthwise.
2. Insert the closed edge of one half into the slit of the other as if you were creating an envelope.
- The opening you created will be the top (cup-facing) of your single-serving filter cone; the long edges of the filter will become the sides.
Another way to do it
1. Start with a whole coffee filter.
2. Fold the filter paper in half lengthwise.
3. Unfold the filter and fold it in half lengthwise again, this time along the opposite crease.
4. Unfold the filter once again, placing it so the crease lines run vertically instead of horizontally.
5. Fold the bottom up about an inch, then fold it in half along one crease.
6. Tuck the other edge along the crease you made in step 4.
7. Fold the bottom edge up about a half inch.
