Should you dry out the Charcoal Water filter in your coffee maker?

Charcoal filters don't need drying out. Charcoal filters absorb impurities from the water, and if they are allowed to dry out, the activated charcoal will lose its effectiveness. Therefore, you should never dry out a charcoal water filter.
