How to Make Bru Coffee (3 Steps)

The good thing about instant coffee is that you don't need any special equipment to make it; the bad thing about instant coffee is that it is instant coffee. One more good thing is that not all instant coffee is the same. Bru Coffee is one of those coffees. A Southern Indian coffee available in instant form and found in specialty Indian markets and online, Bru has a large following in and out of India and can be part of a simple way to start your day.

Things You'll Need

  • Kettle
  • Water
  • Spoon
  • Mug

Instructions

  1. Fill the kettle with two cups of water, or more if you plan on making more than two cups of coffee. Place the kettle on an stove burner and turn the burner on high. Wait for the kettle to whistle and then remove it from the burner.

  2. Place a heaping teaspoon of Bru coffee into the mug. Pour a teaspoon of water onto the coffee to slightly wet it. Crush the dampened coffee against the side and bottom of the mug with a spoon, turning it into a paste.

  3. Fill the mug with water, stir and add milk and sweetener to taste.
