How to Froth Milk in the Microwave (5 Steps)
Whipped, frothy milk is a key component of many morning coffee beverages. Lattes, blended coffee beverages and even frozen and iced-coffee drinks are all commonly topped with some frothed milk for one last creamy touch. Milk steamers are the large coffeehouse equipment used to regularly froth and whip milk, but frothing milk at home simply requires a clean mason jar and a microwave.
Things You'll Need
- Milk
- Small mason jar with lid
- Microwave
- Spoon
Instructions
-
Pour milk into a clean mason jar, filling it up halfway.
-
Screw the lid onto the mason jar tightly. Shake the jar vigorously until the milk inside has become frothy and fills the whole jar.
-
Take the lid off of the mason jar and put the jar into the microwave. Cook on "High" power for 30 seconds. The heat from the microwave will make the frothy foam rise to the top of the jar.
-
Take the jar out of the microwave. Slowly pour the milk into your coffee, and hold the frothy foam back with a spoon.
-
Spoon out the frothed milk foam onto the top of your coffee to finish your drink.
