How to Mix a Miami Vice Frozen Drink (5 Steps)

The Miami Vice cocktail combines the strawberry daiquiri and the pina colada for the ultimate fruity summer cocktail. South Florida bars whip up this local favorite year-round, but you can make it at home too. You can use frozen daiquiri and pina colada mixes to make a Miami Vice cocktail, but the more pronounced flavors of fresh ingredients are worth the time to make it from scratch.

Things You'll Need

  • Blender
  • Frozen chopped strawberries
  • Lime juice
  • White rum
  • Ice
  • Pineapple juice
  • Coconut cream
  • Gold rum
  • Tall cocktail glasses
  • Straws

Instructions

  1. Add frozen chopped strawberries, freshly squeezed lime juice, white rum and a handful of ice cubes to a blender. For every four servings, use about 3 cups of strawberries, 1/4 cup of lime juice and 1 cup of rum.

  2. Blend the ingredients, stopping to add more ice, as needed. Continue until the drink reaches a consistency to your liking. Pour it into a separate container and rinse out the blender cup.

  3. Combine pineapple juice, coconut cream, gold rum and a handful of ice in the blender. For every four servings, use about 1/4 cup of pineapple juice, 3/4 cup of cream of coconut and 1/2 cup of rum.

  4. Blend the mixture to combine everything well, adding more ice as needed until it reaches a consistency to your liking.

  5. Fill a tall cocktail glass halfway with the frozen strawberry daiquiri. Pour the frozen pina colada on top and serve the drink with a straw.
