How to Make Roadhouse Tea (5 Steps)

Roadhouse Tea, often called Texas Tea, is essentially the same cocktail as a Long Island Iced Tea. The difference is that a Roadhouse Tea has bourbon in it and the Long Island cocktail doesn't. The Roadhouse is also served in a Mason jar (instead of a pint glass) as a tribute to its Southern roots. Both drinks should be sipped slowly, since they contain several ounces of alcohol.

Things You'll Need

  • 16-oz. drink shaker with lid
  • Ice
  • 1 oz. triple sec
  • 1 oz. rum
  • 1 oz. bourbon
  • 1 oz. gin
  • 1 oz. tequila
  • 1 oz. vodka
  • 1 oz. sour mix
  • Cola
  • Drink strainer
  • 16-oz. Mason jar
  • Lemon wedge

Instructions

  1. Fill a 16 oz. drink shaker with ice.

  2. Pour the triple sec, rum, bourbon, gin, tequila and vodka into the shaker. Add sour mix.

  3. Fill the rest of the shaker with cola. Put the lid on the drink shaker and shake it until the cocktail is chilled.

  4. Fill a 16 oz. Mason jar with ice. Remove the lid from the drink shaker, put a drink strainer on top of the shaker, and strain the Roadhouse Tea into the Mason jar.

  5. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
